Plans are under way for the redevelopment of
a one-mile strip along the Washington Channel with a waterfront
promenade as the highlight of this 47-acre site. The city's draft master plan calls for
a mixed-use development with 770 residential units (the number of condominiums
and apartments are unknown), 14 acres of open space, 180,000 square
feet of cultural space, a 400-room hotel, 85,000 square feet of office
space, 230,000 square feet of retail space, and 2,000 parking spaces.
